REFLECTION :: Day 6

“Whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:16-18

As the sun rises in the morning, the sun and the image of the trees reflect on the water. If you have ever experienced such a morning, you know that it is a breathtaking moment of the beauty of God’s creation. When the water is still and smooth it is most reflective and the images are as clear in the reflection as they are to the eye.

I often feel a very similar awe as I watch my children. They are beautiful creations from the Father and are such miraculous reflections of His image. Like the water, they are His image bearers. Today, as we pray for our children, we want to pray that they would live and grow with unveiled faces that reflect the glory of the Lord and would be continuously transformed into His likeness. God says, “Be still and know that I am God.” We have prayed with longing that our children would know and love God with all that they are and we pray that in their stillness before Him, they will know Him and will become reflections of His glory. We pray that their lives will be focused and still, allowing for the Lord to pour His glory and purpose into their lives. As they grow into the people God has created them to be, we pray that they will have lives filled with influence from the Lord and not the world around them. We pray that they would be transformed into His likeness…influenced, redeemed and transformed by the holy, glorious God in the likeness of His son, Jesus.

Lord, thank you that you have created my children as such beautiful image bearers. I marvel at the reflection of You in their little lives. Lord I pray that they will seek you with all their heart and that their lives will be filled with stillness and focus. Thank you that You will speak to them and they will find you in their times of stillness and seeking. Thank you for the freedom that is found in your Spirit and for the opportunity to live in relationship with you with unveiled faces. I pray that you will draw them into places of intimacy with you and will pour your glory and purpose into their lives. May they be influenced by your grace and mercy...through the life of Jesus…and through the Holy Spirit. I pray that you will send teachers and role models into my children’s lives who know you as Lord and fervently seek after you. Thank you for the transformation and life of purpose you have for them.

I'm so glad to finally be starting this a week late! The Lord told me that He created my boys with beauty and love in mind. How confident we can be knowing that He is their Creator! Thanks for doing this again Hillarie.
