Favorite Thing Friday--Rainy Days!

We have had quite a rainy week at our house! It has been lots of fun to walk in the rain to pick Mason up from school each day. I got a couple of pictures of Haden and the umbrella...he loved walking on the wet driveway under the umbrella. I love rainy days!

On the not-so-favorite side of our week, Haden fell and got a pretty good cut above his eye. He bled a lot and we were afraid he might need stitches initially, but his little cut is doing lots better. He is always holding little cars in his hands and when he tripped and fell he landed on his car. But, no worries...he held on tight to those little cars! :)

When Mason was almost two he also fell and got a cut near his eye. (He did have to have a few stitches.) I thought I'd post this flashback picture of him to compare these two active little guys!

When I said "Coming Soon"...

...I meant next week! My "tomorrow" has turned into a week later. And what a crazy week it's been...sometimes I think the meaning of life is to learn how to juggle! Currently I am sitting on the couch waiting for Mason's next mad-dash to the toilet to be sick. He has been throwing up since 10:30 last night, poor guy! Haden had the same thing on Monday night too...wow what a ride!

In the midst of these not-so-favorite things this week, however, I still want to share the cool thing from last week:

Mason got a bunk bed!

He was very excited about it and worked with Daddy to put it together on Friday night last week. He's mostly been sleeping on the bottom bunk, but asked me to spend the night with him on Saturday night and slept on the top bunk that night. It was fun to have a slumber party in his new bed! It is definitely one of his very favorite things!!

Favorite Things Friday--M.I.A

For those of you who follow our Smith Family adventures, sorry to have been M.I.A these last couple of weeks. This transition with our new kindergartener and other life "stuff" has been keeping us moving or needing to be still! With that said, I haven't taken any recent pictures but thought I'd post some that I took a couple of weeks before school started.

As you may know, one of my all time favorite things is my beautiful piano!

Something you may not know, however, is the recent interest that my boys have in the piano. Mason has recently asked to play the piano on a couple of occassions and will sit for 15-20 minutes composing his own music at the piano. He has a real grasp of dynamics and actually plays very peacefully and melodically. It's very beautiful! Haden is also very interested in playing and runs to the room when anyone is playing the piano. He is content, for a short time, standing and playing; but soon wants to sit on the seat and play "for real!"
