PROTECTION :: Day 3

“Held in His Hand”


In John 10, Jesus is teaching and says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” This week we have been praying over our children who are God’s miraculous creation, His sheep whom He knows. We have also prayed that as their Shepherd He would guard their course as they trust and follow Him. Today we are praying with a focus on the protection of our children. The same God who created them and leads them, holds them safely and eternally in His hand! Because of their position in His hands they can live without fear, trusting in Him for protection and power.



Lord, thank you for holding my children eternally in your hand. You have chosen them, they are your sheep and you are their Shepherd. Thank you that they do not have to be afraid because you are with them…your rod and your staff comfort them. You are their strength and help and uphold them with your right hand. Thank you for loving them so perfectly…your perfect love drives out fear. I pray that they will stand firm in the armor, that they will set you always before them, and will not be shaken. Thank you that you take on their battles. Help them to take their positions and to stand firm, but then see the deliverance that you give them. What sweet victory they have in your power! You will do immeasurably more than we will ask or imagine according to your power at work in them.
