We took a small vacation this past weekend to Corpus Christi, Texas. It was just a little get-away, but filled with lots of fun and surprises. Our first surprise...the freezing weather! Who would have thought a weekend at the beach in April would bring 35 degree weather? It didn't ruin our fun...we just spent a lot of time shivering and laughing at ourselves!
We first visited the USS Lexington. Mason loved seeing the big ship and all the airplanes. We also saw an IMAX movie about Fighter Pilots...he was interested for a little while then slept soundly through the roaring and booming of the airplanes. Ha! Ha!
Mason really enjoyed the beach! He had a great time chasing the seagulls, running in the sand, and touching the water as it came up on the beach. He was very excited to see, hear, and feel the ocean! Mason and Daddy also decided to share their french fries with the seagulls...they made friends quickly!
On our drive home, we passed several fields of wildflowers. We stopped to enjoy them and snapped a few shots. Cold or not, April is a beautiful time to catch the wildflowers of South Texas.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. " Matthew 6:25-33
We were able to play in the blue bonnets yesterday! I love the Spring in Austin because we get to enjoy several weeks of the beautiful blue flowers. It's such a quick time that they are around and it compels everyone to stop for a moment and take notice before they are gone again. I hope you enjoy these shots of our "blue bonnet moment."
