Children and Prayer Challenge--Day Nine

Strength and Courage

It takes strength to be firm,
It takes courage to be gentle.

It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.

It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt.

It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.

It takes strength to feel a friend’s pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.

It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.

It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another.

It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.

It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.

Lord, thank you that you are our strength. Lord I pray that you will strengthen my children as they move in times of resistance. Thank you that as they hope in you, you renew their strength. Lord I pray that you will enable them to face difficulty, pain or danger, knowing that you are with them and your rod and staff comfort them. Grant them the courage to continue to move with you no matter the resistance. I pray that out of your glorious riches you would strengthen them with power through your Spirit in their inner beings, so that Christ will dwell in their hearts through faith. Thank you that you are able to do immeasurably more than I could ask or imagine according to your power that is at work within them.
